As President of Meadowest Preschool, you will work in co-operation with the other members and teachers to administer the day-to-day management of the preschool.
You have strong leadership skills, are a people person, and communicate well with good listening skills. You will function as the spokesperson for Meadowest Preschool, and must possess good decision making skills.
This position requires a serious time commitment to the school, and it is an asset to have had experience in the day-to-day management of a school, organization or business.

As Vice President of Operations, you possess good interpersonal skills, communicate well, and are a strong leader. You are able to motivate people to do their best, as it is your responsibility to ensure all school jobs are being performed well.
This position requires you to have good decision making skills, be able to delegate jobs effectively and encourage co-operative efforts.
As Vice President of Operations, you have committed a great deal of your time and effort to the day-to-day maintenance of the school, thus giving you the opportunity to contribute greatly to your child’s first educational experience.
The Marketing Chair functions as our window to the community. As Marketing Chair you are a strong leader with good people skills, are able to communicate well with other members, and are an effective delegator.
In this position, you will lead the marketing efforts for our preschool, which is of critical importance to increasing the awareness of our school and membership in the community of Meadowvale and beyond. You will create, execute and implement a marketing strategy for the school, which will require a serious time commitment.
Some experience in marketing would be an asset. This position is perfect for an outgoing parent who would like to share their great experience at Meadowest Preschool with past and future Meadowest members.
You are an accounting whiz who loves to crunch numbers, utilizing your valuable skill set to squeeze each penny for our non-profit organization. As Treasurer, you will handle and account for the preschool finances.
You should have experience managing a budget. You will compile and present financial reports at executive and general meetings, and be available to write cheques for all expenditures and file receipts and/or invoices.
As Secretary, you will attend and keep notes for all executive and general meetings. Following the meetings, you will compile and distribute the minutes of the meeting to the members as required.
You are someone who is able to see the big picture when it comes to discussions and decisions, and you are able to communicate the sentiments of the members accurately and succinctly.
As an executive member, this position is well suited to someone who is keen to have a great deal of input in the management and direction of the school.
Our Fundraising Chairperson is our spirit champion. As the Fundraising Chairperson, you possess good organizational and interpersonal skills; you communicate well, and have strong leadership skills. In this position, you will establish and co-ordinate the fundraising strategy for Meadowest Preschool, which is a big source of revenue for our organization.
This position requires a serious time commitment and effective time management skills. As fundraising chairperson, it will be up to you to motivate and encourage members to fundraise for our school, generating a team spirit that makes Meadowest a special place for parents, as well as children!
Our Parent-Teacher Liaison builds bridges between the membership, teachers, and executive board. As Parent-Teacher Liaison, you are a friendly, approachable and diplomatic person.
Your role is to communicate any concerns or problems that a member may have to the teacher or the board of executives, and vice-versa. Previous experience at a preschool or elementary school would be an asset to this job, and good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills are a must!
In this role, you will have the opportunity to solve problems that members may experience throughout the school year, positively impacting the experience of other members and their children!
The Registrar is the organizational guru of Meadowest Preschool. As Registrar, you will organize all aspects of the student's registration package, and the forms required of active members.
You will be responsible for keeping class lists and emergency contacts up to date, and are the main contact person for new or withdrawing students.
As an executive member, this position is well suited to someone who is keen to have a great deal of input in the management and direction of the school.
If you dot all of your "i's" and cross all of your "t's", make sure that everyone else does too and become our Registrar!
INVENTORY CONTROL/MAIL PICK-UP
This job is ideal for an on-the-go parent with great time management skills. In this position, you will pick up the mail each week from our mail box at the Meadowvale Town Centre, and deliver it to the teacher when you drop off or pick up your child from school.
Additionally, you will keep the inventory binder up to date, making note of new toys and equipment as they are purchased.
This position is well suited to an internet savvy techie who would like to maintain our current events blog and monitor our member's only forum.
As Website Maintenance person, you will be responsible for uploading the monthly snack and duty calendars to the website.
Additionally, you will post upcoming current events and event recaps to our main web page, as well as act as the main moderator of our member's only discussion forum.
Our web page administrative functions are very basic, so your enthusiasm for the job will make up for any lack of IT knowledge!
The Newsletter/Bulletin board job is perfect for artistic types who have a nose for news. Our newsletter, The Meadow, is sent out three times a year.
As newsletter editor, you will be responsible for requesting articles from executive members and teachers, soliciting advertising, and formatting the layout of the newsletter.
Additionally, you will be required to make changes to the Meadowest bulletin boards as directed by the teachers.
The Social Committee Chairperson is a social butterfly who has a knack for event planning. In this position, you will assist the teachers in planning the Holiday party, Mother’s Day Tea, and Graduation.
You will be responsible for purchasing some refreshments and snacks for these events, as well as organizing member volunteers to provide additional snacks.
The Duty Day Scheduler keeps our members organized and our classroom running smoothly. As Duty Day Scheduler, you will complete a duty schedule every month for your class, making allowances for special requests and the availability of members.
You will also need to distribute the schedule to the parents, and the website and bulletin board for posting.
The tricky part of the job is to make sure that all of the members have completed the same number of duty days over the course of the year, so those of you who enjoy puzzles may be perfect for this position!
Class Representatives generate buzz around the school. The Class Representative communicates news, information and reminders from the teachers and executive committee to the members in their class.
You will also bring issues raised by your class to the attention of teachers and executive members. Class Reps will also help to orient new parents to Meadowest Preschool, take class attendance at general meetings, and collect any fines for late duty, late pick-up, or missed meetings, as required.
Coupon clipper? Can't wait for the weekly flyers? Grocery Shopper is the perfect job for you! Each week the Grocery Shopper purchases fresh and dry snack items for all of the classes. Groceries are brought in at the beginning of the week, and receipts are given to the teachers for reimbursement.
Our Laundry person picks up and returns the laundry, squeaky clean, each week to the classroom.
MAINTENANCE/PLAYGROUND MAINTENANCE
An outdoorsy handyman or handywoman is the perfect fit for this position. The Maintenance/Playground Maintenance person repairs items such as broken toys or classroom equipment as required.
Additionally, this person is responsible for maintenance of the playground (weeding, trimming brush around fence, raking sand) on a monthly basis.
Our Playdough Maker is required to make a fresh batch of playdough each week. Specific colours or additions may be requested by the teachers to reflect classroom themes.
Thorough washing and drying of play dough equipment is also performed, as requested by teachers.
Dirt and grime are not in the vocabulary of our Classroom Cleaners! As Classroom Cleaner, you will work in a cleaning team with the other classroom cleaners to clean the large items in the classroom, including chairs, tables, toy shelves, art shelf, easel and large toys in the dramatic centre.
Cleaning sessions are quarterly, as directed by the teachers, usually in September, December, March and June.
If your "Baby's First" scrapbook puts Martha Stewart to shame, you are the perfect Art Prep/Teacher's Helper! As Art Prep/Teacher's Helper, you will purchase and wrap holiday and graduation gifts for all of the children enrolled in
Meadowest Preschool, prepare birthday cards and birthday crowns for your class, make graduation caps for your class, and purchase items requested by the teacher for the classroom.
As Toy Cleaner, you will clean items such as small toys and classroom equipment as requested by the teachers. Small toy cleaning must be done in the classroom during class time.
